Heroes with Hearing Loss

Attached here is a .pdf of the order form for veterans with hearing loss (or their spouses or widows/widowers) to receive a no-cost captioned telephone.  Either a doctor, an audiologist or a Veteran Service Officer who can verify their hearing loss would need to complete the bottom portion of the form, certifying their hearing loss.  The veteran would need a home phone line and Internet for the captions to be displayed on the screen of the phone.

Purple Hearts Reunited

Purple Hearts Reunited Inc. is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to return lost or stolen military medals of valor to veterans or their families, in order to honor their sacrifice to the nation. Founded in 2012 by combat-wounded veteran and active-duty Army National Guard officer Zachariah Fike, the organization has been able to locate and return medals to over 150 military families to date. Our organization returns what is often the last tangible piece of a veteran to his or her family. This is often the solace that is needed for a military family to commemorate their loved one’s service and move on from the pain of his or her sacrifice. We believe all medals should go home to their rightful owners, or be preserved in a special place of honor.

If you have information about the location of a lost or stolen heart or need help locating one, please contact us. Pleaseconsider donating to support our efforts to reunite veterans and their families with their lost Purple Hearts.

More than 2.8 Million Americans have served since 9/11. Among them, 6,840 gave their lives fighting the enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan alone. Among them, 6,840 gave their lives fighting the enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan alone. During that same time, 115,566 veterans gave up their lives to a different enemy... suicide. 18% of all US veteran suicides encompasses a 32% increase since 2001. And though that troubling figure comprises all service members, the percentage of Post 9/11 veterans among them is growing at precipitous rate; particularly among those aged 18-29.
Why?  Its known as the military-civilian divide.  A chasm more and more of our Post 9/11 veterans find themselves unable to navigate; one made wide by the effects of the still-misunderstood emotional and physical scars left on them by their service in America's longest war.   But recent research gives us new hope.  It tells us that therapies focused on activity, engagement and empowerment are the key.

That’s what VETMotorsports is all about.  And we can do more.  With your support.
